Anthony LeCompte and Hester Dottando fled separately across the English channel to escape religious persecution in France. They married in London and settled in the 1660's in what became Dorchester County, MD. They raised their family on the shores of the Choptank River off the Chesapeake Bay. This site is an ongoing study of their descendants.
